(From 03/13)
Though there is has not been an official commemoration set by any Christian denomination, it is time to reflect on the persecution of Christians in Iraq and remember those who have been martyred for their Faith.
I propose that Christians should commemorate the Martyrs of Iraq on 13 March of each year (the date is to coincide with the discovery of the remains of Archbishop Mar Paulos Faraj Rahho) and will remember all Christians, regardless of denomination, that have been murdered for their faith and witness in Jesus Christ.
Please follow the links below for a small snapshot of the plight of Iraq's Christian population.
Prayer:
O Almighty God, to whom is all power and glory, we beseech thee to remember and bless thy servants and people in Iraq and especially those who have suffered unto death for their belief in the life eternal, this we ask in the name of Jesus Christ, who liveth and reigneth with thee and the Holy Ghost, now and forever. Amen
